Writing Prompt: Lost Letter
Monday, January 11th, 2010
Another prompt brought to you by the fickle nature of the Internet. I tried to post a prompt, however, errors in the effort made me lose the prompt without even realizing I had lost it. Ooops.
This made me wonder what would happen if a letter were lost after it were mailed? Who might have mailed the letter? When was it lost? Was it lost before it made it to the mail box? Delivered to the wrong address?
What if someone found a letter that had been fully addressed, then tucked away without a stamp in an old writing desk so that it ended up that it was never mailed? Would they read it, or perhaps for some impulsive reason put a stamp on the letter and drop it into the mail box? How might that change someone’s life?
