A Quick Note

How would you describe a quick note and in what way might one work its way into your novel?
Does the SUV ahead of your protagonist have a quick note in the dust layer that covers it’s tailgate? Does your heroine find a quick note that her husband left her before he left? Did someone scrawl out a quick note before they died? Maybe the billionaire scribbled a quick note that nullified his last will and testament? Did the scientist scribble a quick note on the tablet laying on his desk as the elixir he drank took a nasty turn toward bad side effects?
Have fun finding some way to work a quick note into your story and keep writing.
