Cats Eye

11
January 2008

Have you ever sat and stared face to face with a cat?  They like to sleep on your chest and stare you down with the “You can’t move, I won’t let you!” look, then somehow they multiply their body weight by a few thousand times and prove it.  Gravity defying suckers.

Cats eye can be seen as the eyes of a cat, the mutual loss in a game of tic-tac-toe, or as a semi-precious gemstone of the most hypnotizing color bands.  Cats eye stones can be anywhere from black and grey, to blue and silver-blue, to the better known brown and gold.

Work any sort of cats eye into your story, from the gemstone on a ring or cufflink to a cat passing and looking at the protagonist.  Maybe a cryptic scratching on the floor by the body?
