Writing Prompt: Coat of Arms

The coat of arms can be represented in your novel by anything from an actual coat of arms for a knight or king, to someone researching their family history and discovering what their ancient coat of arms was.
What kind of coats of arms would there be in a magical world? Would they have a coat of arms in your far off future world? Maybe a planet where there is a lot of stock placed in the coat of arms and what particular line the people of the planet are descended from?
